Damn.
Meant to leave it as a Dark Knight Flashback, but it twisted around in my
grasp and mutated into a Father's Day Flashback.
Not even *poems* are free from character manipulations!
So, instead of being a tribute to Immortal Belovedness, this is dedicated to the Cousins of the Knight and our belovedly disfunctional family. (I mean the *screen* family. Nothing wrong with the wackos in the faction itself, right Morgaine? Oh, yeah.... we're kewl. <G>)

(To the humming of that Yuletide chestnut: Do You Hear What I Hear)
Said the Master to his fledgling childe,
"You will do as I say, when I say."
Said the Ancient being to his childe.
"You will do as I say, when I say."
"The years to come: these I give to you;
In a thousand life times renewed,
Will my Blood give forth onto you."
Said the Childe to this Master of the Knight,
"I will do as you say, when you say."
Said the Newborn Childe of the Night.
"I will do as you say, when you say."
"My hopes, my dreams: these I give to you
May my heart always be your due
As a sign of fealty to you."
Said the Sibling to her Brother born,
"We are tied as one Blood, in one Blood."
Said the Raven-Haired to her sworn.
"We are tied as one Blood, in one Blood."
For, now, my Love, we Eternal shine,
With the glow of moonlight sublime,
As our pleasure flows forth like wine.
Said the Knight to his Lover Raven-Haired,
"Know my heart is given, fair given,
To my Lady Night, Raven-Haired.
Know my heart is given, yours given.
The stars may wan, and Time itself grow old,
But my passion shalt not grow cold,
For your fiery eyes rimmed in gold.
Said Knight as the centuries did pass,
"I cannot be this more, this Beast more!"
Said the stricken Knight to his lass.
"I cannot be this more, with heart tore!"
"God's grace to feel, on sunlit grass to kneel:
These are things my Soul needs to heal,
Lest I wither as one deathly ill."
Said the Lass to her Dark Knight mourning so,
"Know I ken not your pain, your heart's pain,
Said the hurting lass to to her beau,
"Know I ken not your pain, this dark bane."
"You've left your mind, wishing to flee our kind
Must you leave all you love behind,
As you seek redemption to find?
Said the Ancient to his halfn'd pair,
"Where has he fled, Daughter, my Daughter?"
Said her Ancient sire standing there.
"Where has he fled, Daughter, sweet Daughter?"
"You know, my childe, he needs to have us there,
That the life of his, Golden Fair,
Can't survive without those who care."
Said the Daughter, regretting of his flight,
"He has gone across sea, hid from thee,
Way across the sea, has our Knight.
He has gone across sea, far from we.
"Oh, Love, my Light, forgive my speaking this,
For my heart is trembling amiss,
And I long once more for your kiss."
Said the Master to his errant Son,
"Come let's not make a scene, look serene,"
Do not think prevails you to run.
"Come let's not make a scene, midst eyes seen."
"Your oath, you see, made far across the sea
Does still bind you wholly to me.
For, always we are Family."
